OUR SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT POLICY

At VIZON, our mandate is to democratize access to data in a manner that is ethical, sustainable and for the good of all stakeholders. We recognize that VIZON has a responsibility to protect the environment and contribute to an inclusive economy. The VIZON Sustainable Procurement Statement sets out our approach to address specific issues related to our purchasing decisions and our supply chain. In doing so, we create maximum value for our community through interactions with buyers and suppliers.

VIZON is committed to making sustainable procurement decisions, and encouraging buyers and suppliers to do same. We work to minimize our impact on the environment, while addressing socio-economic issues and continually improve our relationships with buyers and suppliers in a mutually beneficial way.

As we join hands with the global community in working towards a sustainable planet, we center our contributions in meeting the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); SDG 8 (Decent work and economic growth), SDG 9 (Sustainable industry, innovation and infrastructure) and SDG 17 (Sustainable partnership for the goals).

Our Procurement Policy

Our Procurement Policy governs our approach to sustainability in our buying and supply chain. At its core, it aims to guide our company in contributing to society and minimizing environmental impact.

Our approach starts with assessing environmental, social and governmental (ESG) factors that are relevant for each procurement process and then incorporates appropriate evaluation criteria in the sourcing processes. We also challenge our buyers and suppliers to offer sustainable and innovative solutions. In making our selling and purchasing decisions, we evaluate all costs associated with the product or service, and where practicable, prioritize ESG factors.

Our Sustainable Procurement Principles

VIZON's procurement processes focuses on three main principles:

• Responsibility:  where VIZON is responsible for her own impact on society, the economy and the environment, with a reuse, recover and recycle perspective on goods and services.

• Innovation: where VIZON encourages sustainable, innovative procurement practices and seeks solutions to address her sustainability objectives

• Life cycle costing: where VIZON considers the cost incurred over the life cycle of products and services, value for money achieved and the costs and benefits for society, the environment and the economy resulting from her procurement activities.

Protecting the environment

Our staff are informed about pollution prevention measures and encourage to adopt the principles of sustainable resource management in procurement processes. In making purchasing decisions, environmental performance of suppliers and buyer is taken into account when the impact is deemed to be significant.

Respect for human rights in procurement

We aim to work together to drive socio-economic development and inclusion through our supply chain. We also promote gender equality in our buying and procuring decision making process by encouraging the inclusion of all parties in the procurement process. The health and well being of our stakeholders are paramount and through constant training, we inform our staff on the importance of sustainable use of resources.

Respect for local and global communities

Our procurement process adopts all regulatory requirements for local content quotas in the purchasing and supply process. We give back to our local and global communities through the support of initiatives and business that drives value creation and supply chain sustainability.
